Fashion Collaboration Shoot and BTS

Collaborating with other creatives is amazing! That’s why I’d like to show you a video and images from a recent collaboration shoot I did with a very good friend of mine. Keep reading to learn more.

Some Background

A few weeks ago I shot a promotional video for my friend Mariana Penilla, who is a fashion designer in my hometown. The promo video included images from a photo shoot so I also made a behind the scenes video of the shoot.

Our producer was Mariana’s sister, Mery who, besides being a headdress and graphic designer, is also great at video production and did a fantastic job as camerawoman. We shot at Mariana’s store, so Jaime Galvan lent us his portable background.

With all the technical team assembled, the only part missing was a model and we were fortunate to work with Vero Perez, an up and coming model who was just a blast to work with!

Objective and Gear

The main objective of this shoot was to create some fashion/editorial images for Mariana’s promotional video. In order to do this we assembled the portable background and set three lights. The main light was a Godox TT685F/Flashpoint Zoom R2 inside a Photoflex nxt Octodome Small. The background lights were a couple of Metz Mecablitz 52 AF-1 set in Servo/Optical Slave mode. The camera used was a Fujifilm X-T2 with the XF35mmF1.4 and XF56mmF1.2 R lenses.

Even though my main service offering is portraits, shooting fashion and editorial provides me with additional practice and insights into other photography disciplines. Besides, working with other creatives provides me with a wider vision and new tools to apply in future projects. Collaborating is also a great way to network and make new friends :-D
